THE SPIRIT OF THE REVOLUTION MARCHES ON

Thanks to a Fund for community Service grant, IBMers Gerd Sommers (right) and Bill Dearstyne were able to sponsor an unusual musical show in June. Fourteen fife and drum groups from the Northeast gathered at Camp Johnson, Colchester, to entertain audiences with traditional military music of the revolutionary period. Gerd and Bill are members of the Hanaford's Volunteers Fife and Drum Corps of Underhill; the grant made it possible for their corps to play host to this memorial event.

The Hanaford's Volunteers, with about 35 members, participates in musical events thoughout New England. Their goal is to keep our nation's history alive by preserving the music of our revolutionary past.
